Retired local school teacher Susan McGovern will launch her debut novel in the County Museum at 8pm tonight.
Senator Mary Moran is due to speak at the launch of ‘Vanished’, a book which focuses on 18-year-old Lucinda Gray a quiet and unassuming girl who tells her cat Smig everything.
Set in Dun Laoghaire in 1975 the book deals with the events leading up to Lucinda’s disappearance and what happens afterwards.
Susan retired two years ago after a 35 year teaching career in O Fiaich College but joined creative writing group The Write Space, headed up by Brenda Woods, and began writing ‘Vanished’ soon after.
Susan had previously published a factual book called ‘Care and Prevention of Urinary Problems in Cats.’
